Ohl Loolx at that group ol' funny looking, scaretl little boys antl girls gatheretl in Mrs. Sharpes room. A few tlays later they were clivicletl into two classes. Une class was taught by Miss Barnett, the other remained in Mrs. Sharpe's room antl was to he the last class taught by Mrs. Sharpe at Berryhill. 'lime seemed to pass slowly in the gratles, although the stuclents were entertainetl at parties and festivals on many occasions. 'llhe respective classes were organiretl antl stutly groups formed, and slowly but surely we were taught the three Rs llroin year to year new members were atltlecl to our number, antl some ol the original members movetl away or clroppetl otit. Upon entrance to the eighth gracle a number of stuclents were atltletl from Steele Creek Grammar School. One bright tall clay in 1945 a tlream came true-this class enteretl high school. This great event seemecl to olllsetall the pain ot patienttlearning in the gratles. 'lihat year marlyetl the entl oil XVorltl XVar ll. Many ol: the boys who hatl left school began to come baclt to hnish their high school etlucation. 'lihey began again to live the lilc of high school pupils antl enteretl enthusiastically into the various activities. flihe tenth year ol' this class meant participation in school sports antl even inclutletl some parties, which was the beginning ol' a more extensive social lilc, the memories ancl imprint of which will be carrietl throughout lite. Learning was a big factor, but this class clitln't think they neetletl to learn. ln short, they might have been calletl wise lools Qsophomoresl.
