SENIOR BEAUTY WALK There is no shortage of beautiful girls at Berry as the Senior Beauty Walk, held on October 24, proved. Jon Phillips, Jay McCollum, Benny Schrubbe, and Chris Hill had the pleasure of escorting the contestants to the music played by the Jazz Ensemble. Jon Phillips welcomed the audience, and the girls began their walks down the runway. With the announcement of the top thirty, excitement grew among the contestants and the audience. After a second look, the judges chose the top ten. They were Kelley Johnson, Judy McGaughy, Jill Powell, Diane McGaughy, Valerie Bendall, Anita Digiorgio, Celeste Bostick, Susan Barnes, Wendy Clark, and Michele Hefferly. As these lovely ten young ladies waited for the results of the evening, Lisa Boyd, last year ' s Miss Senior Class, made her final walk. The culmination of the whole evening came as Mr. Slage announced the winners: Valerie Bendall — second alternate, Kelley Johnson — first alternate, and Diane and Judy McGaughy — Misses Senior Class. This was the first time that there had ever been a tie for the title. It was a night that all will remember. Top: He ' s here! Middle: Berry ' s talented Jazz Ensemble performs. Bottom left: I hope everything looks good! Bottom right: The judges score each girl carefully. 28

COLLEGE IN THE 80 ' s To familiarize juniors and seniors with college curricula and job oppor- tunities, the Guidance Office organized College Day. The annual event took place in November with student and faculty representatives of col- leges and universities from all over the country. These visitors were the guests of a tea in the home economics cottage and then attended a brief indoctrination assembly. Afterwards, students talked to the different representatives in class- rooms. A luncheon was held in the library for the guests before their departure. This experi- ence gave students a better insight into the type of college they would like to attend. Top: So that ' s what goes on at college. Bottom left: The Three Stooges. Bottom right: This is what they mean by adventure? 30
