The library stayed in busi- ness with a handful of students who were in and out for study or sometimes, pleasure reading. 1 The haze of summer settled in june and a small group of regular students remained to work and for the classes that were ojered. The summer school was a big sign of the change, with increased class schedules and many day students coming from the surrounding counties. I The heat got almost unbearable at times as july faded into August and August into September. Then around the last of the month students, old and new, began re- turning for registration. The crowd seemed as though it would never quit coming, fill- ing dormitory space to overflowing. Every- one was jitted in some how and the new academic year was begun. W .495
