FOREWORD As we, the class of 1962, finish our college requirements and prepare to venture forth into our chosen professions, we recall the past four years as years of academic progress and social changes. We have seen the building of a quarter system for Berry, due to begin next year, and feel that maybe we have had a part in that important change. We have watched Berry’s academic program progress to a top spot in the small college class. We have been the fortunate listeners to many of the nation’s most recognized speakers. Just this year we heard Barry Goldwater and Doctor Norman Vincent Peale. Our fine arts programs also have developed to a point where Berry students now see superb performances of plays such as “Doctor Faustus” and “Richard III” regularly Berry’s own Drama Department produces superior programs and provides excellent training plus experience for English majors. Social changes have done a great deal to make Berry an even better place to live. Remember the opening of the Student Center? We can remember when cars were not allowed to stu- dents and girls had fewer passes. Yes, we have seen class and dress uniform changes too! Now new regulations allow married and off-campus students to attend classes at Berry. Progress, progress! Berry’s work program now includes approved off-campus jobs, giving our students even more valuable practical experi- ence, and increasing work opportunities to help pay expenses. Berry, as always, has planned ahead. In this yearbook we have tried to picture some of the events that have affected all of us during the year. It is our sincere wish that it will serve as a reminder to us of the fine school that we attend—Berry.
