PEP CLUB INITIATES NEW ACTIVITIES The newest activity initiated by the Pep Club this year was the formation of the Pom-pom girls. They are, pictured above, from left to right: Kay Roth, Barb Edwards, Cathy Sill, Roxie Airgood, Dorothy DeVries, Rene Huss, Sheila Franks, and in the center, Ruth Weidner. One of the biggest money making ventures of the Pep Club this year was the Slave Auction. Club members were auctioned off to the highest bidder, and the proceeds helped to pay for the Varsity teams’ blazers. Pictured at the right is one of the survivors of the auction. Other projects of the club that promote school spirit are aftergame refreshments for team members, sponsoring the decoration of the halls during tournament time, and the club makes up the largest part of the student cheering section.
