67564 gmde Scholastically, this group of eighth graders are on a par with their predecessors. Many of them try hard with somewhat meager results. Many try hard with much better results. There are some, which is still normal, who exert little effort yet they lead the pack. ln other respects this group deserves special recognition. They volunteered to earn the money to eauip the eighth grade room with dark shades in an effort to promote visual edu- cation. They worked for approximately A two weeks in October of l949, collecting waste paper which they sold in Benton ' Harbor. This proiect, which produced five tons of waste paper, netted them 34400. This sum was slightly more than half of what they needed to balance they agreed, at a reg' equip the room.
