4 Games Affect BHS Life Style Each year new and more exciting ways to spend time are created, and there are usually a couple of these things that stand out. This year the race was close, the two favorites being the Rubik’s Cube and electronic games. The Rubik’s Cube came in with a bang at the first of the year. All that could be seen was people twisting on cubes, unless, of course, the teachers took them away. But then the cube craze died down and something new came along — elec- tronic games! Electronic games, although more expensive in the long run, came to be and still are exciting to play and to watch. Along with this new fad came the Mule Barn. Owned by Harold Stevens, it became the hot spot of Bernie in ’82. Top Right: Rubik’s Cube contest winners. FRONT ROW: Dennis McGowan, Jimmy Ri- ley, Clinton Costin. MIDDLE ROW: Darrin Boyle, Randy Kean, Greg Carter. BACK ROW: Tim Beck, Dicky Parkman, Tim Smiley. Above: Portrait in the Mule Barn. Far Right: Steven Burris, one of the highest scorers on Pac-Man. Right: Sheri Zoll shows her talent on Ms. Pac-Man.

Students Are Style Conscious The major changes in fashions are designer jeans, shirts and shoes. The tag that you wear on your posterior or the design you have on your shirt can determine your place in society. As for shoes, topsiders are a favorite, and Nike tennis shoes aren’t just for sports any more. The newest fashion is knickers. They have made their comeback into the fashion world and are popular with all ages, proving that Bernie stu- dents are truly keeping up with the times. Top Left: Designer jeans displayed here are: Oscar de la Renta. Jordache, Calvin Klein, Gloria Vanderbilt. Zena and Sasson. Middle Left: Amy Fortner shows that even younger children wear stylish clothes by mo- deling her knickers. Above: Brent Swiney and David Fears reveal their status positions in Izod shirts. Left: Topsiders and Nike tennis shoes were the popular footwear. 5
