The ceremony was announced by Greg Norman and Kelli Edmonds, both seniors. All the basketball players, cheer- leaders and candidates paraded in, while Jacki Rushing pro- vided the music on piano. Candidates waited in anticipation with their escorts as the retiring queen, Beckie Durham Quinn, was escorted through the gym by Kevin Mitchell. Bethany Holt, Ben Fears and Stephanie Beacham strolled down the court, bearing roses and the crown. Finally the results were announced: third attendant, Twila York; second attendant, Lisa Fortner; first attendant, Kelly Murphy; and Lauren Hester, escorted by Bob Hughes, received the crown and cape.
