The Jr. Class Presents ... On May 7,1982, the Jr.-Sr. Prom was held in the Bernie High School cafeteria. The theme was “The Nite Life” and was dis- played in blue and silver. The music was provided by Eddy Martin’s American Sound, the prom was provided by the ju- niors and the fun was provided by the seniors. With silver stars, a winking moon and beautiful metallic blue and silver streamers, the cafeteria was looking better than ever be- fore. All the juniors and seniors that attended were in their formal dress and appeared contented and happy to be there. Top: The stage, decorated in blue metallic streamers and dazzling silver stars, presented the theme in bold metallic letters which spelled out The Nite Life” encircled in stars. Above: Anne Stephens flashes a proud smile for the camera while she chats with her out-of- town date. Awards Are Presented The annual awards assembly was held on May 19. Scholarships, class awards, attendance certificiates and special recognitions were given, along with band, music and physical fitness awards. BHS athletes and cheerleaders were also recognized. Right: Stephanie Mayberry received the chorus award. She was also given a certificate of recognition for achieving a 1” rating on her vocal solo at state music competition. Below Right: Bob Hughes was presented with the personal culture and consumer math awards. He was also given the $200 FHA scholarship.
