Beta Dance Has Yuletide Spirit ’Twas the night of the Beta Dance and all through the school, dancing and laughing were the general rules. The students were happy and having a good time, and Santa was there when the clock started to chime. It was Greg Norman decked in his beard of white, helping to make it a sensational night. He gave away gifts that he took off the shelves with a little help from his two friendly elves. When the music played and voices chattered, every- one knew there was nothing the matter. There were candy canes and holly berries and lots of mistletoe, and it seemed as the night was wrapped with a bow. The only club that could possibly have created this holiday fest was the one and only Bernie Beta Club, doing their very best. Class Takes Trip The Psychology Class spent a day at Anna, Illi- nois, observing the envi- ronment and the people at the mental health cen- ter. Most of the class agreed that it was more like a home than a health center. They returned with a better understand- ing of the programs avail- able for the mentally handicapped. Betas Attend Convention The Bernie Beta Club attended the State Beta Club Con- vention on March 26-28, 1982. With chaperones and Beta members loaded in a bus, the group traveled to St. Louis to unite with other Beta Club Chapters. There were places to go, meetings to attend and people to meet. And when the work was completed — there was fun. Greg Norman, State Beta President for 1981-82, said good-bye to all the Beta members in his final address, to successfully conclude the convention.
