Mrs. Myrtle Boyd is one of these people. She has been a janitor at Bernie High School ever since the school was estab- lished. Through the years she has spent many hours helping to keep the building nice for the many students who have passed through its doors. In appreciation of her loyal service, the Publications Class of 1979-80 wishes to dedicate the 1980 Cotton Boll to Mrs. Myrtle Boyd. May 16, 1980, marks the end of a twelve year time passage oi iy for all Seniors af BHS. This pas- sage of time, twelve years of education, is one of the most important that Seniors will pass through. For some, graduation day will end all schooling; for others, it will only mean that they are one step closer to a professional career. The Seniors will never again be one, big, happy family. Many of the very close friends will nev- er see each other again. Yet, the great times at BHS will never be forgotten. These are the days of our lives. Time brings them and time takes them away. They were met by the Public Relations Director as soon as they arrived. They were given a tour through many of the buildings and were shown many ways mentally ill people are tested and treated. Due to a rain shower, members of the tour got slightly wet. Despite the messy weather, most of the group enjoyed the trip. Many felt that the hospital was very different from what they ex- pected. They returned home late Tuesday afternoon, all ex- tremely tired after an exciting day. When we reminisce about all the happenings over the years, it’s hoped that the 1980 Cotton Boll Passages Of Time will help these memories come alive. In this book, we will always be able to slip back in time and relive those many ballgames, dances and dub events. We 've also tried to capture some of the fun and crazy things done at noon, in classes and around the halls of BHS. We hope this book is especially treasured by the seniors. It represents our final days at Bernie High School and memories that will be in our minds for a long time to come. The Publications Class of 1979-80 put a lot of hard work and determination into this annual. At times we wondered if we would pull it off, but thanks to our sponsor, Mrs. Judy Zoll. we did It!
