Foreword . . As each student looks through the pages of this book, let him recall the many memories collected with each passing event. Some students will regret the time spent in classes, the preparation of assignments, and think of the 1968 school year as just another passing year until graduation. Others will recall the year with regret that another year has passed. They will remember the fun they had at ballgames, attending club meetings, preparing for parties, building lasting friendships, accomplishing goals, and fulfilling hopes and dreams. Each class of 1968 holds its special happenings and events that the members of that class share with each other. The freshmen re- member their first year in a strange, new environment. The soph- omores recall their second year in high school with new confidence and look forward to their busy juniors year. The juniors remember the most exciting year in high school, with memories of class rings, their junior play, and the prom. The seniors look upon the passing year with mixed emotions and uncertainty of what graduation will bring for them. These memories and many more have combined to make this a memorable year. With this, the annual staff presents the 1968 COTTON BOLL.
Every Day Is Filled with Variety. No day is quite the same for the stu- dents at B.H.S. Assemblies, ballgames, dances, and club activities all add a spice of variety for the students at B. H.S. A music assembly presented by a Woodwind Quintet from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra was presented to the high school students. Karla Hoggard assists by taking absentee slips during seventh hour. Basketball manager, Lee Beckman, helps Tommy Hobgood with a hurt finger. The bulletin board posts daily and coming events and items of interest to teachers and students.
