' 'v' I I V ffig, 3 1954 - 55 File 0 Events As we close this 1954-55 file of events, we want to call attention to the following: First of all, the senior class has asked me, as president of the senior class and editor of the annual staff, to give a brief history of our senior class. On a September day in 1951, a group of excited students were laughing and talking in Mrs, Elizabeth Colvin's homeroom. At last, we were in high school! We had our first class meeting and elected officers During the year we had two class parties, one at Christmas and one at the end of the year. The next year, we were ready to start another session of study and fun. The sophomore officers that year were elected, and we began early collecting dues to raise money for a big Christmas party which we had in our homeroom. Everyone was ready the following fall to begin his junior year. We again organized our class by electing officers. We collected dues again and sponsored a movie. We had a class party in our room again at Christmas. In the spring we picked out our class rings, and we sponsored the Junior-Senior Ban- quet. All of us were flashing shiny rings the first day of our senior year. Everyone felt as though he were a big shot! We again elected officers, and we started our fund raising campaign for this year. We spon- sored the annual senior play and promoted a light bulb sale. We are planning our senior trip, and all of us are looking forward to it with great enthusiasm, We are also looking forward to the banquet which the juniors will entertain us with in the spring. Now, we have reached the top of the ladder, and with us are many pleasant memories of the past twelve years. , We want to thank our advertisers who helped to make this edition of the Blazer possible through their advertisements. We thank Mr. Caldwell, who has cooperated with us all the way through, not only in publishing this edition of the Blazer, but in our senior activities and studies.
