Conners, Kristen Davi, Michelle Fermature, Sue Cay, Mr. Midura - Advisor. Youth Council This year's Youth Council was forever on the move. It was a Community oriented group, as exhibited by their charity turkey raffle. When this group was not helping others, it was planning trips The frequent trips to the city were both cultural and exciting. In an effort to encourage participation, Mr Midura opened up the numerous events to the entire school. Back Row: Nina Corapi, Mary Ellen Pep Club The most energetic organization at Berner this year was the Pep Club. The members, with the help of Mr. Bevilacqua, aroused the spirit of our students. By painting the sports box, and selling painter caps, hats, buttons, and shirts they virtually painted the school red and white. Squad consists of dedicated students. In order to keep up with a hectic schedule the students were willing to work harder than any group in Berner. Too often this group was taken for granted by those who thought that televisions and movie projectors moved themselves. Mr. Ieskie trained the squad well. It consists of responsible and efficient students who have assisted the school operation tremendously.

The It's Academic team, under the supervision of Mr. Richard Gale, has enjoyed the success of a productive season. The team traveled to various schools to participate in scholastic competitions. Points were earned by correctly answering questions on such topics as art, literature, music, history, science, math, and trivia. The It's Academic team is proof of Berner's intellectual excellence. Mary Fullam, Roger Lehneis, Mr. Gale - Advisor. fSeatedJ: Patty Virgilio, Donna Lee, Karen Yanowitz, Donna Panico. CFrontJ: Dave Mullarkey, Brian O'Keefe. R.A.P.S. It is Tuesday afternoon. You are in a room listening to teenagers discuss general, contemporary, and personal problems. The students seem to really care and they offer surprisingly good advice. This is the Rational Approach to Problem Solving, more commonly referred to as R.A.P.S. Under the guidance of Mrs. Ebba Lehmann and Mr. Sheldon Weinrib, this group clearly meets the need for students to discuss and come to terms with their own problems. .X ! Cam.era-Qlub C After learning the fundamentals, the Camera Club has spent most of the year applying the finer points of photography. This group is not content with studying manuals. They have been seen around school constantly snapping pictures hoping to capture the essence of a person scene or activity at Berner. They also develop their own film and print enlargements. Ski Club The Ski Club has sponsored various trips to the nearby mountains to enloy the exhilarating fun of skiing Many of the members are avid skiers who coast down the expert slopes while others are just beginners learning the basics The club was formed in response to the growing popularity of skiing Under the direction of Mrs Urban the club has grown to be one of the largest Berner with an ultimate trip to Canada in the planning Drama Club The Drama Club produced two plays this year. The Wedding was a one-act hit. The actors and stage crew were talented and dedicated and the direction was superb. The main production Play On offered further proof of the club s ability to create comical productions. This year the Drama Club under the new guidance of Mrs. Helen Anderson has continued in its tradition of bringing enjoyment to Berner.
