' For Second Year in a Row Rifle Team Captures Conference Title Varsity Team includes: fStandingJ: Coach Tacke, Keith Ander- son, Kevin Browne, Eric Smith, Assistant Coach Mercer fKneel- ingj: Manny Goodman, George Cheeseman , For the second year in a row, the Varsity Rifle Team captured the National League IA Conference Title. Shooting at targets from a fifty foot range, the team members had impressive scores. Senior Kevin Browne scored a perfect 200 in the prone category, and came in second place in the tiebreaker. Sophomore Manny Goodman received first place honors in the kneeling competition, and junior Mike Cohen secured 3rd place in prone. In the I.V. kneeling competition, Mike Tepedino captured first place. The rifle team finished with an outstanding record of 8-2. The dedication of Varsity coach Mr. Charles Tacke and IV coach Mr Keith Mercer, was a tremendous asset to the team I.V. Regrouping at Beginning Leads to Successful Finishes Bowling Team includes: Tracey Fox, MaryEllen Con- nors, Theresa Baumann, and Elaine Savona. 59 Y+'W' ' T 'T ' I The Girl's Varsity Bowling team, after losing seniors last year, finished the 1983-84 season in a respectable fourth place. Led by seniors Teresa Bauman and Mary Ellen Conners, and by juniors Denise Panico and Debbie DeRosa, the team over- came the loss of many team members last season and finished the season admirably. The Boys' Bowling Team came in an impressive 2nd place in Division IA. Under the guidance of Coach Donald McCauley, the team finished with an outstanding record of 9-3. Eric Rothke led the team with an average of 187 and qualified for All County. Other powerful members were seniors Chris Tebeau and Doug Butchazke, and junior Pete Weber. , 5-5 3 Winter Runners Defy Weather Team Ca tures Third Place in Counties P This year's winter track team was a small group with a lot of talent. The team competed in many meets at Far- mingdale College and were commended for their outstanding performances. The two-mile relay, con- 3, C sisting of Ioan Tebeau, Andrea Hannula, Tina Donhoe, and Diane Altenburger, captured fourth place in the conference meet and third place in the county track meet with a time of ten minutes-fifteen seconds, which broke the school record. New freshman Lori Murray received a gold medal in the one-mile run for her distinguished achievements at the Nassau Coaches Meet in the Armory in New York City. With this year's team's potential and great enthusiasm, the outlook for next year's season looks very promising.
