VIRGINIA MANN. Her title at school is nurse, but she has been a friend, a soft shoulder and the strength to go on that so many of us have needed. When we are ill she takes care of us; when we have problems, she listens to us; when we need a boost, she is there to give us a pat on the back or a well needed boot in the pants. We can not thank her enough for all the time she has spent with us and all the love she has spread in her years at BKW Thank you Mom Mann, this our hug to you. a rare moment of rest 8 Stacey Ann Delaney Lori Anne Durfee Nadine L. Without each of you the school could not function, and we would not be able to get an education. 50 Through snow, sleet, rain and sunshine the busdrivers get us back and forth to school. They try to make it as pleasurable as possible; for many of us have to ride for what seems eternity. Even though some of us give the busdrivers a hard time, we really appreciate their patience when they have a bus full of screaming kids. Row 1 Y. Smith, J. Fredrickson, S. Delaney, M Bishop, S. Mike Washburn The 1986- Baseball season at Berne Knox was marked by change. It saw the resignation of the coach Joe Servino and the hiring of a new coach who promised a bright future. This luminous future as predicted would not come easy. It needed hard work and a desire to achieve excellence. Coach Jim Reinich worked hard with his limited squad to put this program back on track. The 1986 season wasn 't marked with a championship; but the desire he strived for in everyone of his players showed. The past season s hardships and triumphs are long past, but a lesson was learned that all will benefit from in future seasons. Row 1 Rich Tesoriero, Jason Stevens, Jim Lyon. The team did not dominate the league this year as expected due to the absence of several of last year’s runners who had helped the team finish in third place at the 1985 sectionals. The team did finish the season undefeated in dual meets against league competition. Chuck Tanner became BKW's first 5 year Varsity runner having competed since he was in eighth grade. Chuck finished undefeated in league meets both his Junior and Senior years. He set four meet records in 1986 and finished 4th at the sectionals. He earned the honor of representing BKW at the New York State Championships in Buffalo. Seniors led the team throughout the season. Chuck Tanner and Heather Smith were selected team captains. Matt Ronconi was chosen for the team award for his dedication and Eric Malcomb supplied needed depth to the team. Future leaders for the team next year are expected to be Jonathan Bright, Brett Frantzen and Charlie Hubbard. wRS'JTty soeesx Row 1 D Saortmo. J. Prastio. M Hannay, M Snyder. G. Martin. They were Schoharie County League Champions for the second consecutive year, compiling a league record of 12-1 and an overall record of 15-3. Their only league loss was to Schoharie with a 6-5 decision. During the second round the team won by the score of 6-1. This made it necessary for a league play off game. This time the Bulldogs defeated the Indians decisively 14-6 to give them the championship! The team then went to Sectionals in which they were victorious over Galway 12-7, but lost in the Semi finals to Maple Hill 6-8. The team consisted of one Senior, one Junior, six Sophomores, five Freshmen and one Eighth grader. The players of all sports dedicate this page to their coaches and parents who have supported them through each season. Each of you have given more than just instruction in how to play the game. You have given us the spirit and dedication to strive for the top. You have only asked that each of us do our best and support the rest of the team. You’ve seen us rejoyce at victory and be shattered by defeat. You have always been there to help us celebrate or boost our spirits and regenerate the winning attitude we need. Without you, none of our sports programs would be possible. 93 wgsrTU ss,kzs 4t sizs Top row- Lisa Kenific. Missy Sherwin Middle Jennifer Frederickson Bottom row Annette Lendrum. Lynn Guilz.
