Mrs. Tigner retired last year atter 15 years as the mechanical drawing teacher and 14 years as the yearbook advisor. Mrs. Tigner put into her course the discipline necessary to succeed in all walks of life. Any student who wished to find a challenge had to look no further than room 110. She expected perfection from her students and would accept nothing less. Yet for those who took advantage of it. she was a font of information and technical expertise, from her reminiscences of lo Ming Pei and near hero worhsip of R. Buckminster Fuller to her personal experience in drafting and design. For 15 years our mechanical drawing department was second to none. Although she has no children, she thought of each of her students as one of her own She gave them the attention necessary to develop their full potential and to nurture it into a marketable skill. Even today, her former students, who win awards or are recognized for their excellence in a related field, send her clippings and drop in on her to thank her for all the help she gave them and for her caring Above all, she cared. It is for that devotion and that love that we dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. E. Jayne Tigner. who. with her husband Jim. now enjoys a retirement more hectic than her teaching years. 2
