His unique talents have brought pleasure to the community and a healthy sense of pride to our school. He has taught us that achievement is the reward of effort. The words of Charles Mercier best express our feelings, What we learn with pleasure, we never forget. So, in token of our appreciation, it is to you, Coach Shaul, that we dedicate Memoir '73. For ten months Berne-Knox has had the advantage of having a foreign exchange student from Ecuador. Although Grace Gomez knew practically no English when she first came to stay with the Adams family in September, she radiated a warmth that won over everyone who met her. Grace proved to be a very diligent student, and by December was speaking like a true American! She learned skills at Berne that will benefit her in Ecuador, and has been a great asset to our Spanish Department. Not only was Grace's education enriched by learning the customs of America, but we also benefited by learning about the culture of Ecuador. We at Berne will remember Grace for her ready smile and her enthusiasm, and hope she will think of Berne and her experiences here with fondness.
