The Berne-Knox Central School has as Its purpose the education and favorable development of the youth of this area. This implies a great responsibility on the part of all of us. As teachers and administrators, we keep abreast of the latest methods of teaching and current information in our field. Besides our regular classes many of us have homerooms in which we inform students of accepted school conduct, give extra aid when asked, and occasionally have informal discussions. We instill abilities in the greatest of all disciplines, that of self-discipline. We strive to develop in each of our students the desire and the ability to progress to his fullest capacity and to accept his responsibility for personal success and for the success of our school. We also have many extracurricular activities; Mrs. Wright chairs Adult Education and Math Club, Mr. Cohen instructs student bowlers, Mr. Favreau advises Honor Society and Static, and Mr. Freda directs Drama Club. Mr. Whitlock guides the Future Teachers Club. Mrs. Yarmchuk and Mr. Boyden supervise 4-H and F.F. A., respectively. We try by our own example to show orderly and purposeful living, which yields great self-satisfaction.
