Klasse' ffl tvrze ln 1954 as hopeful and excited vassals, we began the drffrcult clrmb toward knight hood The Lords under whom we strove were Mrss Secor and Mr Grtlow Also gurdrng us this year were our class offrcers Thomas Betts Madeline Crosrer and Harold DeVoe We sponsored three actrvrtres thrs year, a dance, a movre and a roller skating party These activities, along wrth a magazrne contest which we won, enlarged our treasury and enabled us to enjoy ourselves as well. Our Sophomore year marked another step in our progress as we battled wrth the dragons of mathematics scrence, English, and hrstory As leaders this year we chose Thomas Betts, Harold DeVoe, Virgrnra Mitchell, and Dons Miller Under the guidance of Mrs Wrrght and Mr Fennessey we successfully presented our act1v1t1es whrch con srsted of 2 movies and a dance, The Leap Year Frolrc This was also the first year we participated ur the Jumor One Act Play Contest Our presentation was the hrlarrous comedy One Happy Family Everyone will remember Barbara Quay s 1912 bathing su1t and Doris Miller s famous jrtterbug We were Jubrlant when we found that we had won the contest Thl1S we clrmbed a step higher on the ladder of success Our Junror year found us as squrres nearing our difficult goal Our advisors Mr Mitchell and Thomas Betts In Match, rt was our turn to sponsor the One Act Play Contest As our presentation we chose Grandma Fixes Things a comedy m which Harold DeVoe changed to skirts to contnbute to the h1lar1ty of the plot In May we sponsored one of the biggest events of the year our prom We choose the title Hawarian Paradise and decorated the gym accordingly We ended the year looking forward to our next and best steD Knrghthood In September 1957, we began our Senior year We were knights we had achieved our goal' Some of us had already begun to work on one of our largest senior proyects, the 1958 Memoir Our staff headed by Allen Kaehler, was supported by Irm Decker Harold DeVoe, Garland Cross, Thomas Betts, Alan Rockmore, Vugmra Mrtchell Delores Frgel, Carol Palombo, and Lillian Zona Our elected offrcers were Thomas Betts, Frederick Bartz, Virginia Mitchell and l-larold DeVoe Miss Sherwrn and Mrs Bove were our advisors A sock hop was our frrst event of the year and next, we presented a three act comedy entitled The Loud Red Patrrck, whrch starred a clever father and four shrewd daughters As the year drew to a close, we looked back on the years that had gone by We saw the happy trmes and the hard trmes, the tests, sports, and actrvr tres rn which we had participated We knew, even though they were not with us physically that the classmates we had left behind were wrth us and were sharing our sorrows and Joys Then as graduation neared, we realized that we had finally achieved the crowning goal that four years of work had wrought 0 0 D . . . . . - Mustico and Mrs. Osterhout, were aided by Harold DeVoe, Robert Dexter, Virginia l s D '
