AAartll1lau li t1l'A flixffj rtln g VT 20 CLASS HISTORY The stage rs set the lrghts go off and the curtam opens on our Hrst year of hrgh school as Freshmen We elected our offtcers to lead us through the hard but happy years as follows Presr dent Stanley Kocsrs V1ce presrdent Albert Percy Secretary Margaret Swtnt Treasurer Janrce Le Buls Student Councrl representanves Marguerrte Carl and Kenneth Duell For our events we held the mov1e The Green Grass of Wyomrng a Valentine Dance and a Roller Skatrng party We also chose our class colors whtch are maroon and whlte and entered a magazme contest wrth the Jumors wluch we won Our Freshman year could never have been so successful wrthout the capable leadershrp of Mr Wrlltam Wesel and MISS Ruth Bndger as our advrsors Act two tookplace as we entered the role of Sophomores At our first class meetlng we elect ed Kenneth Duell Presldent Albert Percy Vtce prestdent Mary Warner Secretary Dons Saddle mtre Treasurer and Margaret Swtnt and Ogden Saddlemue were chosen to represent our class rn Student Councrl For advxsorswe had Mr John G Favreau and Mr Warren V Noble Dunng the year we held a Round and Square dance wrth My Blue Heaven as the theme wlth Johnny Eggers and hrs orchestra We also had a Bake Sale at the Juruor mov1e and we sponsored the mov1e When My Baby Smrles At Me Lrfe O The Party was our chorce for the Juntor One Act Play contest All these thmgs truly made our Sophomore year a memorable one The thlrd act found us rn room 206 and playmg the role of Juruors The class agaln chose Kenneth Duell as Prestdent and Charles Wrlhams as Vxce presrdent Other offtcers were Alrda Klersy Secretary and Slurley Jones Treasurer Janice Le Burs and Fred Bassler were rn Student Councrl The frrst b1g thtng we dld was to order our class rrngs w1th Black Onyx and the Two Tone Gold Styles predomlnatrng After what seemed months of endless wartrng we became the proud owners of our own rrngs one day tn January presented Ken wrth an rdentrficauon bracelet at a combtned Valentxne and Farewell party W1th our presrdent gone we voted Charles W1ll1ams as Presrdent and Rlchard Dearstyne as Vrce presrdent to flmsh our year as Junlors We held a double feature mov1e wlth Drums Along The Mohawk and Margre as the movles The One Act Play Contest was also sponsored by us and we entered The House Next Door as our play We also sold magazmes to bulld up our treasury and lost the contest to the Freshmen Then on May 23rd the final curtam closed on our Iumor events as we held the annual Prom The gym was decorated to match our the'ne Cxnderella Ball thus turnrng rt mto a fatryland of gowns swtshlng ln trme to the muslc of Kerth Wrtter and hrs orchestra At eleven o clock last year s queen Elsre Herzog now Mrs Vrctor Hall Ir led the grand march and announced that Ruth Jones was Crnderella and Fred Bassler was her Prrnce Olharmrng It was the ftrst trme rn the school lustory to have a krng rergn along w1th a queen at t e Prom The fourth and final act brought us mto the spotlight We were now Semors and ready to start out on our frnal events The frrst meetrng agarn found us electmg offrcers Holbrook Btssell Glen W1lls1e Ianxce Le Buls and Marguente Carl were elected as Presrdent Vrce presrdent Sec retary and Treasurer respecnvely Margaret Swmt and Albert Percy were our representatrves to the Student Counctl The yearbook comnuttee began workmg shortly after school started We recerved our ban ner and proudly dlsplayed II in the ltbrary A class motto was chosen plans were made for our New York tnp and we sold sweat shuts wrth our school name and emblem on them as a way to rarse extra money On October 24th we sponsored the Wltches Whrrl to the musrc of the Lrve wrres Tlus proved to be very successful Then on November 13th and 14th 1952 we presented the three act comedy We Shook The Famrly Tree And now the llghts are on and the curtaln has closed thus brtngmg an end to our hrgh school career We wtll soon be forgotten but Berne Knox wlll forever be a part of us 21 In the middle of the year, our president, Kenneth Duell left us to join the Navy.
