Orchestra 1, 2. 3. 4: A Cappella 2. 3, 4; Small Choir 4; Girls' (dee Club 1; Instrumental Solo 1; Cheerleader 1. 4; GAA 2. 3. 4: Class Secretary 2; Twirler 1. 2. 3; Annual Staff 4; Newspaper Staff 4; Drum Majorette 4. Ruth Ann Zimmerman Ruth Ann has an intelligent brain. She gets “A's” without effort or strain. A Cappella 3, 4; Small Choir 3. 4; Training Choir 2; Girls' Glee Club 1; Vocal Ensemble 3. 4; GAA 1, 2. 3; Latin Club 1. 2; Class Play 3. Class History With great anticipation the class of 56 began its journey through high school. Our officers were Kenneth Reinhard, President; John Nusshaum. Vice President; Claudia Jo Amstutz, Secretary; Sandra Gillioin. Treasurer. On December 22 our class was invited to a skating party at Roller Dome with the class of 55. In May our class went to the C. C. Camp for a class party. With quite a bit of volume our class returned to school from summer vacation. Twice winners and still champions of the yelling contest this year proved that we are capable of producing noise. Our officers were Jerry Fluckiger, President: Tony Licchty, Vice President; Rosalind Yager. Secretary; Rita Sprunger. Treasurer. The class officers chosen by the Juniors were Albert Egly, President; Tom Ehrsam, Vice President; Sandra Gillioin, Secretary; Nancy Smith. Treasurer. For our Junior Class Play we presented “The Night of January 16th.’’ At the end of school year 55 we graciously entertained and received the Seniors at the Junior-Senior Reception. The theme of this reception was “Bon Voyage.’’ Completing our last whirl in high school, we started with Tom F.hrsam. President: Jerry Fluckiger. Vice President; Sandra Gilliom. Secretary; John Nusshaum. Treasurer. For our Senior Class Play we presented “Spring Green. Reaching our final destination, we closed our high school days with the Junior-Senior Reception, Senior Week, Baccalaureate, and Commencement Exercises.

Last Will and Testament Having learned all there is to know, we, the 1956 Senior Class of Herne-French High School, being of sound mind do hereby grant this, our last will and testament, rendering all other wills made during a period of temporary sanity be accounted null and void. To our deserving faculty we will a long restful vacation in order to recuperate from all the trying experiences we have brought them. To the juniors we give the ability to reign honorably as the oldest, most capable, and most intelligent class of B.F.H.S. To the sophomores we leave our tremendous volume which has given us the reputation as the noisiest class in school, hoping that they can someday acquire the yelling plaque. To the freshmen we will the good humor and courage it takes to survive an adventuresome. but hectic, high school career. 1, CLAUDIA JO AMSTUTZ, will the numerous tardinesses I have acquired through my high school years to SUE ANN GRABER.
