'TWAS the DAY Before GRADUATION Tvvas the day before graduation, and all thru the school, All the seniors were loafing, with nothing to do. Three girls were nestled all busy in the art-room; MARJORIE. JOYCE, and CARO were drawing a cartoon. And NANCY with her EDDIE, and IMOGENE and JACK, Had just gone outside for a nice little chat. Suddenly inside the chemistry room there arose such a commotion, Since KARL, NED. and RODNEY had not planned on an explosion. Away to the study hall LYNETTE and MARGARET cruised, Called President JOHN, who was taking a snooze. The sun on the crest of the now-melting snow. Revealed PHYLLIS. SUZANNE, and MARINELL each with her beau. When suddenly my wondering eyes did tarry On fast-moving Asthma loaded with ROGER and GERRY. With a handsome young driver so tall and so slim, I knew in a moment it must be Saint JIM. ARLAN, BILL, and JERROLD seemed to be quite disturbed; Along with the CHARLESES they were saying these words: “On Latin, on history, on math, on English, On chemistry, on home-ec, on safety, on Spanish; Far away from this school, far away from this hall. Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!” As STEVEN and PAUL were holding a caucus. They met with an obstacle, “Mount to the office.” So up to the courtroom opr pals, they flew; Where they met some ornery friends, namely GALEN and STU. And then in a twinkling I heard right close by, A cute little giggle; could be none but JOY. As I drew back my wits and was turning to go, Down the stairs came VIRGINIA, with JEROME RAUCH, her beau. LUTE was dressed all in blue, playing fast basketball, While JANE led the crowd in yelling “R h! Rah!” Four cases of pop DEWAYNE carried right in. He looked like a big shot just opening the canteen. Her eyes, how they sparkle, her dimples, they show. You’ve guessed who it is, our own BARBARA JO! ZENANA and GRACE, a jolly pair, as you see. And the hair on their heads is as red as can be. Thev have long curlv hair and each a lovelv voice. LOUISE and MARILYN HABEGGER attract all the boys. JEROME. VAN. and LESTER had some Ag books to read; And JUDY, NEVA, and SHIRLEY in home-ec were sewing a seam. TOM is our editor; he cracks jokes quite cunning; Oh. I heard ALICE laugh, though nothing was funny. And a wink from JIM GEHMAN and a smile from BARB K., Just now goes to prove we were all feeling gay. DONNA MAE and MARILYN NUSSBAUM were behaving for a change, Since they’re always in trouble, it really seemed strange. Then laying aside all, to no one they heeded; Out the front door the seniors proceeded. Thev sprang to their cars, to the teachers gave cheers, And away they all flew without any tears. But I heard them exclaim ere they drove out of town, “HAPPY SCHOOLDAYS TO ALL. THANK GOODNESS. WE’RE DONE.” Twenty-two RUTH ANN LIECIITY

He’s really racking up the points. At this point of the program, we have a short act by those famous comedians, ZENANA HAWKINS. JAMES GEHMAN, and GRACE LIECHTY. VIRGINIA NEUENSCHWANDER is the wife of one of Berne’s wealthiest farmers. She will give us a brief report on “Life on the Farm.” NED KIPFER is following in Einstein’s footsteps. We’re all proud of him. Remington Rand presents to us their first woman president, JOYCE LEHMAN. She’s very efficient. Next to last on our Parade of Stars is LOUISE STAUFFER. She's helping Lawrence run Sprunger Lehman. NEVA SPRUNGER. the well-known piano teacher, will end our program with a piano number.” This is Les Meshberger saying that's all for this year.
