We Give Special Recognition to . . ♦ . CAROLINE I. HIRSCHY Our gratitude and thanks goes to Miss Hirschy who, after thirty-one years of teaching in Berne High School, is resigning her post as teacher at the end of the 1952-53 school year. As principal, she did much to raise the standards of the school and keep them high. We regret that she is resigning, but we do appreciate her years of faithful service here. FREEMAN BURKHALTER We extend our deepest appreciation to Mr. Burkhalter for his patience and understanding shown throughout the years. We feel it a rare privilege to have him with us and we can never begin to repay him for what he has given to us. Although he will be gone next year on a leave of absence, we sincerely hope that the following year will see him back in these halls once again. Four
