LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We the Senior Class of Une Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty-Nine, being of more or less sane mind, and of excellent judgment in matters both educational and otherwise, must, as every student does sooner or later, leave from this scene of learning commonly known as Berne High School. We hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. Hear ye, Hear ye, all ye who have ears, the following document, duly drawn and sworn fo: To our beloved teachers we will our patience and 'love and our hours of hard work. To the Juniors we will the affection Miss Blue has for us. To the Sophomores, we will our dignified personality and our neat appearance. To the Freshmen we will all our fun and entertainment which we have had in our past four years. I, Sharon Allspaw, will my ability to get the car whenever I want it to Shirley I-Iirschy. I, Marvin Amstutz, will my mechanical abil- ity to Jerry Lehman. I, Harry Eckrote, will the affection Miss Blue has for me to Keith Parr. I, Johnny fDanQ Eichenberger, will my abil- ity to play basketball to Bill Barrett. I, Delora Graber, will my empty stationery box and fountain pen to Cynthia Kirchhofer. I, Anna Jane I-Iabegger, will my love for music to anyone who cares for it. I, Arlene I-Iabegger, will my ability to blush to Anna Schwartz. I, Palmer Heare, will my art ability to Wal- ter Mazelin. I, Richard I-Iirschy, will my love for Science to LaMar Winteregg. I, Ruth Inniger, will my pleasing personal- ity to anyone who can acquire it. I, Phyllis Kneuss, will my love for singing to anyone who likes it as well as I do. , I, Jack Lehman, will my ability to be the only Senior boy going steady with a Senior girl to Judson Lehman. I, Maggie Lehman, will my four years of cheerleading to Gretchen Bagley. I, Merlin Lehman, will my violin and my ability to play it to next year's orchestra. I, Milton Lehman, will my farming knowl- edge to Ted Lehman. I, Robert Liechty, will my wavy hair to John Paul Burke. I, Roselyn Liechty, will my love for Book- keeping to anyone who takes it. I, Claudette Nagel, will my quiet nature to Gyneth Liechty. I, David Nussbaum, will my Ford and my speedy driving to Logan Sprunger, I, Emma Jane Nussbaum, will my privilege of reciting poems for Mr. Spurgeon to any- one who is lucky enough to get it. I, Marjorie Rawley, will my ability to make high class grades and still work late at the Palmer House to Joan Moser. I, Larry Rich, will my bright jokes and re- marks to Walter Baumgartner. I, Alice Schug, will my natural curly hair to Joan Lehman. I, Areta Sprunger, will my small features to Arlene Balsiger. I, Carol Sprunger, will my popularity and friendliness to Elsie Lehman. I, Donna Mae Sprunger, will my Clay dream- ing to Lillian Baumgartner. I, Frederick Sprunger, will my privilege of sitting in the back seat in Literature class to anyone who can get it. We started our junior year with enthusiasm and many new classmates. Heirs to the f' Throne The officers that were chosen to guide us through this year were our president, Ronald Townsend, aided by Ronald Krehbiel, vice president, LaMar Winteregg, secretary, Pauline Seesenguth, treasurer. We had proof of our upper classmen age in November when we received our class rings. On November 9 We presented for our class play Off a Pewter Platter which, under the direction of Miss Stone, was a great success: We had a class party November 24 in the school gym. Everyone had a wonderful time. Twenty-two Cn May 13 we played host to the seniors at the junior-senior reception.
