Dedication To the man who has led our team through thick and thin, and battles that seemed almost lost, we dedicate this annual. Yes, Mr. Ned Shuck has made a fine showing for himself the three years he has been here. The Berne Bears took the Sectional the first two years of his teaching in Berne, and showed fine sportsmanship when they lost this last Sectional. Mr. Shuck has been in there “pitching with the boys. He has boosted up their morale at several games and thus, they have come out with flying colors. The fellows all think a lot of Mr. Shuck. He’s not just a teacher, but he’s a friend to everyone he comes in contact with. He has been teaching the boys very well, and, in another year or two, we should have a “hot team once again. On the side line he also teaches social studies, but most of us think of him as Coach Shuck most of the time. Yes, he’s really got what it takes to put it across. We're all for you Mr. Shuck. Good luck in your future years with Berne High! 3

Foreword On this the fifteenth day of May, nineteen hundred and forty-seven we, the Senior Class of Berne High School, hold the great honor of being able once again to present you with the annual OUR YESTERDAYS. By reading this book we will recall many happy memories of our school days. We sincerely hope that you, too, will be able to do so. The thrill of entering high school, the various musical activities, the basketball games, our teachers, and finally the commencement exercises have all been very dear to us. We consider the many hours of labor spent on this book well worth our while. Our sole desire is that you will be pleased with it. 2
