Senior Class Prophecy Today the Berne Seniors are full of glee, For they have passed a hard degree. But let us see. if they'll go on from here In that same spirit and good cheer. As the future picture now comes to my sight. I see none have gone wrong, but each right. I find not only one of them did succeed. But each lass and lad has, yes. indeed. Quiet! I hear a beautiful piano tune. Oh. why did it have to end so soon? I could stay here and listen forever, For Miriam Wiederkehr plays so clever. This girl once took care of the 2nd grade; Liked it so. she became a school teacher maid. The pupils find Treva Habegger so sweet; Each morning they bring her an apple treat. As I looked closer at the book I had read, My eyes nearly popped out of my head. For I found the author of the poems to be None other than Catherine Musser. you see. The next thing I see is a little Miss Who has become a very good seamstress. Now Yvonne Reusser sews dresses galore But not only women are at her front door. Now this gal really makes things fly. Almost as quick as she winks her eye. Patty Lou Reusser has a secretary’s duty; And I see she is still quite a beauty. You want to know what I just said; Who it is that’s painting the town red? It is Gloria Riesen and Johnny still; You know. I guess, they always will. I see that Irene Graber made a good pick. If you don’t think so. just ask Flick. She now has become a good housewife; Seems to be leading a wonderful life. Burl Sprunger. is quite proud. I'd say -Conductor on the Atchison. Topeka, and Santa Fe. For he travels through sunshine and rain. Riding on that great big choo-choo train. I see Marilyn Wiederkehr settled down In a sweet little house, in a cozy town. And I think her life just now begins. Because the stork brought her girl twins. Charles Nussbaum is now really on top. Can you guess why he became a cop? He wanted to pull someone in for speeding; How he does enjoy to hear their pleading! Maynard didn’t have to dig a deep ditch On the day that he decided to get rich. I found, he just married some cute honey, Who possessed loads and loads of money. I see Warren Habegger on a chair stretched out. And he’s feeling very comfortable, no doubt. For he got it from his own Furniture Concern. Which is still located on Road 27 in Berne. Gee! Look at the next thing to be seen— It’s Stuart Lehmann—college professor dean. In Math and Latin they keep him busy. With silly questions that make him dizzy. I find a building packed to the door: Just listen to that cheer and roar As Lou Marie Smith now takes a bow After playing her accordion, and how! I see Lena Eicher took a college course In the interest of biological resource I find her teaching Weller's former class; They are now making a study of the grass. I find Carl Muselman sure did progress. For he took over his dad’s printing press. As long as “Henry” is the ’’boss,” The business won't ever run to a loss. I find Loren Sprunger married a dame; They have a house at the end of the lane. He’s working hard on a factory shift To support their latest “blessed gift.” This basketball game I really enjoy; Look at the points made by that boy! Fredrick Liechty is now a national star; Of course, he is known both near and far. Wow! Look at Darlene Bowman giving commands. Oh. yes. Jerry placed his life in her hands. But they seem to be getting along quite fair Don’t you agree, they make a dandy pair! By whom was that beautiful picture made? Oh. yes. I see. Delores Sprunger got paid. She was quite satisfied with her art Until the day Dan Cupid shot his dart. Ellenora Mertz still has that cute figure. For I sec she hasn’t got much bigger. She still likes very much to sing. And can almost as good as Bing. Pauline Michaud still has her Crosley. But there is one great change I see— For in the car it wasn’t Pauline I found. But her three little kids tearing around. Phyllis Wittwer. better known as Sam,” Quite early in life got herself a man. She is really a very good housekeeper; Yet. it’s he I see running the sweeper. Here's the way Loren Liechty earns his bread He hits the nail hard right on its head. He builds things in a very short time. And I find his work is very sublime. Norman Lehman thinks it is a treat To work in many acres of wheat. I see the farmer now takes a wife. And lives happily the rest of his life. Hugh Sprunger is an airplane mechanic. Who at the present moment is in auite a panic. With sweat, he’s working with all his might; Sure enough, the plane is now working right. Please remember lawyer Charles Abraham In case you somehow ever get into a jam. For he’ll be able to help you out. I'm sure: He’s like that other “Abe”—honest and pure. I first thought I was having an illusion. But someone’s getting a transfusion. Who’s that but Margie Moser by their bed, Wearing a white nurse cap on her head. Twenty
