One day one of the children announced, “My birthday will be in three weeks,” but Bobby Wenger retorted, Naomi has a sooner birthday than that.” One day Michael Lehman confided to Mrs. Chrisman, Miss Chrisman, we had a broken-down last night.” He meant a breakdown, of course. ❖ In Art Class Mrs. Chrisman drew a kitten's head on the blackboard. Roger Mesh-berger studied it, then declared, That looks like a girl bunny.” 5 Mrs. Chrisman played the Blue Danube Waltz on the piano. She said. “The composer’s name is Strauss. It might make you think of hay.” Next music period, when she asked “Who wrote the Blue Danube Waltz?” Sue Ann Graber triumphantly announced, “Hay!” Freddie Whitehurst was much impressed bv Miss Jeanette’s hat. He pointed to the veil and asked, Is that a thing that comes down over your eyes?” Yes,” she replied, “but I don’t wear it that way.” “No,” he explained, “you couldn't see so well to drive if it was foggy.” $ In connection with our study of the Eskimos, we talked about the Northern Lights.
