When once they knew the ropes. We found us soon in grievous storms, A rain of questions poured. And from the wet and slippery decks, A few fell overhoard. And when the rocks and reefs uprose, Some shuddered with remorse, And trembling to the pilot ran And begged to change their course. Two more years are yet before us.
