On the rainy Friday morning of Sept. 6, an exchange student landed at Philadelphia International Airport, destined for the classrooms of Bermudian Springs High School. Her name is Maria Cecilia Gallegos, age 14, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abelardo Gallegos, of Quito, Ecuador. Her father owns a factory which makes caps for bottles. She has two brothers, Theodore, 18 and Nelson, 20. While she was here, Ceci, her nickname, stayed in the following homes for three months each, that of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cashman, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Livingston, and Mr. and Mrs. Amos Meyers. ' Ceci enjoys sewing and art, and this year at school she has studied French, English, Science, History, and Algebra I. She has actively participated in 9th grade chorus and several extracurricular sports. We might add that Cecilia has been Bermudianis first exchange student, and since her year here has been quite a success, we hope more exchange students may be in the future.
