The week was filled with a variety of events arranged by the B-Club. School spirit was high on Monday as stu- dents wore their colors and struggled during the noon-hour tug-of-war. Tuesday followed with hats and pies as the seniors chowed fastest to win the pie eating contest. Wednesday was left to the imagination with crazy day and on Thursday we all put on the ritz” for dress-up day. Thursday night was busy with powder-puff football at five o'clock. Juniors struggled to their victory and we then snake-danced to Riverside Park, where the traditional bon-fire was held. On Friday the pep assembly was anxiously awaited by all. Skits were presented and the Seniors' skit. Return of the Indians re- ceived first place, while the Juniors wailed'' their way to a victory in the yelling contest Excitement filled the air as Miss Berlin, Terri Winkel, and Mr Berlin, Scott Tessaro. Then it was off to the parade and later to the game. The Indians won the exciting game by a score of 38-13. The fans were entertained with the pom pon squad doing a pre-game routine to Far From Over and by the Marching Chiefs dazzling half-time show. Results were also announced. The Seniors’ float received first while the Sophomores' window came out on top. The Sophomores also won the covetted Spirit Award. The dance followed the victorious game Tunes were provided by the band. North- wind. It was an exciting week, full of colorful memories for all who were involved. Ulrike Schoenfeld from Gebhardshain. West German and Francesca Fasiolo from Udine. Italy. Ulrike is a talented pianist who enjoys draw- ing. roller skating, bowling, skiing, and danc- ing. She spent her year with the Dretske fam- ily and found most of the people of Berlin to be kind and friendly. When she returns to Europe, Ulrike must complete two more years of high school and then she has plans to attend college. Francesca is also very active. She enjoys bowling, a new sport to her, dancing, skiing and playing soccer. She stayed with the Wu- cherers this year and when she returns to Italy, she plans to finish her last year of high school and then go on to become an archi- tect. As students, both girls found schools in the U.S. to be easier than the schools in Europe, however, they did enjoy most of their classes and have learned much about American ways. Ulrike Schoenfeld and Francesca Fasiolo When asked if she missed her family and friends, Ulrike replied, You don't miss your family very much because you have your own family right here.” Yeah, agreed Francesca, We re so busy that we don't have much time to think about home. Throughout the year these two foreign ladies” have become very close and have even made plans to visit one another when they return to Europe. We hope they always reamin friends and that they will cherish their experiences here in Berlin. 86 Underclassmen (under klas’men): Persons of the freshman, sophomore or junior class a, as in ale. fate, la bor, cha'os, cham’ber a, as in cha ot’ic, fa tal;i ty. cor’date a, as in ac count', in'fant, guid’ance 3. as in arm, far, fa'ther, ah, palm ch, as in chair, much; also for tch as in match; for ti as in question; for te as in right eous d, as in day. add ed; also for ed as in robbed e, as in end, excuse', ef face' e, as in si'lent, pru dence, nov'el g, (always hard), as in plague; for gh as in ghost gz: for x as in ex ist', ex act', ex ample j. as in joke, jol'ly; also for soft g, as in gem, gi ant: for gi and ge as in relli'gion, pi geon; for di as in sol- 'dier; for dg (e) as in edge, judgement ks: for x as in rex, ex’e cute, perplex' kw: for qu as in queen, quit, qual'i ty n: (small capital): without sound of its own, indicates the nasal tone (as in French or Portuguese) of the preceding vowel, as in bon (b6n), en’sem'ble (Sn'san’bl) I, as in ill, ad mit', hab’it. pit'y Freshman (fresh-man) — A student in his first-year standing Michelle Bartol Veronica Jacques David David Chris Berndt Besaw Blake Bloch Boenmg Marcia Becky Paul Rob Lana Braun Briskie Brueggen Brunke Buhrow David Stefanie Akin Alexander Julie Jeff Andersen Astrach Bridget Dawn Beaudry Bending Kari Ann Branske Bratley Kathy Lisa Butterbrodt Buzzell 88 Erin Craig Nichole Sarah Carmella Dan Kellie Carpenter Chamberlin Chier Chipman Clark Clark Clark Kim Dutcher Melissa Dutcher Jerry Duwell Angie Ellis Becky Erspamer Kerry Ewald Myron Ewald Lori Wayne Shannon Dan David Sarah Cheryl Featherston Featherston Fox Gimenez Gimenez Gravunder Groskreutz Lynn Mike Julia Terry Scott Sheri Kevin Guden Gunka Gustke Hadel Hansen Harthun Harmsen 89 Larry Tracy Greg Sherri Tedd LiS3 Michelle Hdrvey Haskins Hatch Heise Henriksen Hertzberg Hess Ron Troy Tammy Bonnie Julie Julie Travis Hieldnd Hitchcock Hoffmsn Holden Hollis Janiak Jezwinski Jeff Brian Jeanne Sherry Nancy Jim Ksy Jodsrski Johnson Johnson Kallas Kannenberg Kasubaski Kasubaski Jackie Men Beth Mark Keren Kevin Tammy Kasuboski Kelm Kerstell Kettlewell Kinziger Kiplin Klawitter Roxanne Paul Ann Jenny Matt Nova Lisa Krause Kujawa Kurczek LaBuda Lehman Leigh Leppin 90 Lori Melissa Russ Jerry Shane Tanya Theresa Leppin Lewellyn Lichtenberg Londowski Luethe Lyne Mack Gus Monica Rob Michelle Tammy Jason Sherry Maltos Markowski Marks McGrath McGregor Meyers Minsky Michele Randy Rob Tammy Michelle Sam Dianne Moldenhauer Mulder Murkley Navin Neitzke Nelson Neubauer Linda Becky Todd Cindy Scott Rob John Neubauer Neumann Nicholas Niemuth Nigbor Nitz Nitzke David Angie Tony Keith Deena Shawn Roger Olson Owens Paez Patchett Paulsen Pearson Petit 91 Wayne Pick m Ron Piechowski Mary Rose Piotrowski Jim Plato ■ David Polakowski Jim Polk Sara Polka Lana Pomplun I Steve Sattler Ginette Quick David Schaff Dale Schmidt Sue Rodencal Terry Schoppenhorst Tim Rodgers Ken Schram Amy Rodman Leo Rogers 0 t Todd E.
