Mrs. Goodrich was born in Northwest Nebraska and went to Crawford High School. After graduating, she went to Drake University in Des Moines for one year, and Nebraska Wesleyan Lincoln after which she married her husband Sid. She then worked in Pennsylvania for five years, Ripon for eight and then she came to Berlin in 1960. In the past she has taught elementary music, a capella Choir, Girls Glee Club, Mixed Chorus, Swing Choir, and Madrigals. She sends approximately fifty entries every year for tour- nament and has had many firsts at State for her Madrigal. She has no specific plans after retirement, but does plan on spending more time with her husband on Grind Stone Island in the St. Lawrence. 2 Four years have passed for us at Berlin High School. Four years of learning, de- veloping strong friendships, and growing towards maturity. Four years that have left us with memories that we will take from here into our luture lives. These memo- ries, both sad and happy, will keep us close to our high school days forever. Everyone has had his own personal experiences which hold special meanings for him alone, but we can all share in the memories of past events in which we partici- pated as a class. Let’s journey back intime to our first year of high school. Remember how lost we were? It was a totally new experience for us. Homecoming was fun because it was the first time we hau really worked together as a class. Despite all the fun we had. we didn’t fare very well in the Homecoming competition. Our first float “We’ll Strip Them Tigers of fheir Stripes for an UnBAREable Victory, brought us a fourth. The tiger on it was so bad we had to cover it up with a blanket. Our skit was our only decent thing. Our version of “Hee Haw” pulled us a second. Before we knew it our freshman year was over. Our Sophomore year brought with it many new and exciting experiences. Home- coming was more of a success for us. By learning from our previous mistakes, we managed to pull our first first on our float, They’ll Be at tne Mercy of our W heels. Our skit based on “Happy Days” brought us a second. The big excitement of the year was the selection of the class rings. Our Sophomore year drew to a close bring- ing with it the end of our first half of our high school days. Our junior year was really great. Our class had really pulled together. Though we didn’t do very well during Homecoming, three thirds and a fourth, we sure had a lot of fun. Finally the big event we had all oeen looking forward to-prom. Our theme song “Reflections of My Life” with the main theme of “Memories” really seemed to sum up our feelings of the past events leading up to prom. Now all we can do is look back to all the planning and preparation and realize that they are only memories. Our junior year ended with the anticipation of our senior year and graduation. Our senior year, we were tough seniors, the leaders of the school... Our Home- coming was a big success. We received one first and three seconds. We also won the Homecoming game, our first victory on Homecoming during our high school years. Our basketball team also made our senior year even more exciting as they were con- tinually leading the ECC. A senior wrestler George Kafer also wrestled in the State tournaments. Our senior vear holds many memories that we will cherish and laugh about for many years. Tne memories of all the different sports events, all the friends, all the'happiness, all the tears, and most of all our working together as a class. The past holds memories, the future holds dreams. Treasure the past and make your dreams come true. Congratulations to the class of 1977, there'll never be an- other class like us. THE WISE-GUYS Row I: Jay Younglovc. Peggy Hoppa. Kerri Dehn. From the entire class of 1977 and Ber- lin High School, we would like to express our deepest condolences and regrets. May God bless the family and friends of Scott Wagner, we’ll all miss him. Sincerely, The Class of 1977 Because 1 could not stop for Death. He kindly stopped for me; The carriage held but just ourselves And Immortality. 27 AGOODEXCHANGE Takashi was bom November 25, 1958 in Takasaki, Japan, and has two younger brothers. He enjoys playing the trumpet, basket- ball, and listening to music by the Beatles and John Denver. After returning to Japan, Takashi plans to take a college law course. “After passing my tests on English both written and oral, I knew I was coming to Berlin, Wisconsin. I was lucky and am glad to have come here. I’ve made a lot of friends and am enjoying myself very much. Everything is beautiful except the cold weather!” 28 SENIOR ACTIVITIES ALBASHIAN, CONNIE-Cheerleader 3,4; Badger Girl 3. ALLEN, BARBARA-FBL 4; FHA 4; Girl’s Basketball Statistician 2. Now we must move on in life, but we will always cherish our memories and good times. BHS has imbued us with many impressions, most that have changed us for the better. We leave behind the memories of our last year in pictures and print as a remembrance of our senior year at BHS. Meyer WE RE NUMBER ONE!!! “My feelings towards the Varsity Basketball squad are the most positive I’ve ever had in bas- ketball. When the season began, 1 had no idea our team could develop into a Conference Champ. It has been gratifying to observe the improvement of each of our players over the sea- son. Our Seniors have developed a winning tradition for our Juniors to challenge. In addition to a conference championship, our team ended the season with eight straight wins at home. This should also provide incentive for our Juniors to want to keep that streak going. But most of all, we played together. The biggest compliment that can be paid to this team is that they had no first team All-Conference selections. As the old saying goes, “There is no I in team.” . , and our TEAM really showed that.” aC er® DATE OPPONENT VARSITY JV.
