OUR SUPER-DUPER MR. RAYMOND KINZIGER The 1975-1976 school year marks the arrival of Mr. Ray Kinziger, superintendent of Berlin School System. Four short years ago we, the class of '76, entered Berlin High. The big dream of being a senior seemed far off, but as we had been told, it came faster than expected. Today that dream, as well as our years at BHS remain only as memories. As freshmen we had spirit and it showed. Above our bleachers hung the sign, Roll Out The Carpet, Pick Up The Sticks, Cause We're The Class Of '76! Tying for second place on our Homecoming float with The Indians Smell A Bear Defeat, confirmed our enthusiasm. A turnabout, held during our freshmen year, gave even the most bashful girl a chance to ask out the guy she liked. Our senior year seemed too far off to worry about so we enjoyed being freshmen, but in the back of our minds we dimly realized that Our Day Will Come . With our sophomore year, came assurance—more confidence in ourselves. We celebrated Homecoming with success; again our float, with the them of Looks Like We're Going To Dunk'em Donut? received a second. During our sophomore year we also had the experience of Biology class which meant disecting frogs and taking our own blood samples. All these experiences bring back many funny memories and others, best left forgotten. When our second year was over, we knew we were half through. Where had the time gone? Only two years left. Our junior year was probably the most exciting thus far in high school. The school year had barely begun and again we fared well in the homecoming competition. This year our float received a first with the theme of Hay, Let's All Pilch In For A Victory . The highlight of our junior year was Prom. After deciding on the theme of Fantasy, the colors of light and dark blue, and the song, Stairway to Heaven , we set to work. We painted murals of a park; brought in a real swingset, constructed a new bridge, hung streamers, and in the center of the gym set a life size wishing well with floating flowers. Perfectly decorated we thought, for our court. Queen, and King. Finally it was 1975 and the special year we had been waiting for. Our last homecoming was our biggest and best with four firsts and one second. Our float, based on Jaws featured a shark, eating a beheaded Bulldog with the theme, 'Jaws' Give Us A chance. We'll 'Behead' In the 'Fin'ish! At the pep assembly, Mr. and Miss Berlin were named. On December 21 of our senior year, the band performed a pregame and a halftime show at the Green Bay Packer Game in Green Bay. Many things have happened in our high school years; too many to name here. We will never pass this way again. We realized that from the beginning so we made the mos t of these years. However, our lives are not ending; they are just beginning, but no matter how far we go, our memories will always be with us. Right now though, We're Only Just Begun To Live .
