Ervin Ehrlich became a member of the School Board in 1955 and retired July 1970, af- ter 15 years of service to the Berlin School System. He served on the board during the reorganization and change from a city, system to a common school district and was instrumental in this change. Much of the change and growth took place under his leadership as Director of the board during the 60's. He saw the high school grow from under 500 to over 750 students and the total entolled students to almost 2000. Berlin Alumni Association — One Hundred Years Alumni Officers: Miss Haroldine Root, Miss Grace Root, Miss Louise Nowakowski, Mr. Glen Brooks, Joyce Stemler. ALUMNI SONG Again we meet, once more to greet The friends of years gone by: Once more as schoolmates now we sing, As happy moments fly. Oh, those old days can ne'er return! But at this season dear We call them back to mind again While we are gathered here. We'll clasp the hands of those who've come To join our happy throng: They're welcome, who have journeyed o'er The paths we trod so long. And ere we part, oh give a thought To meetings that are o'er- To places vacant here tonight, To faces seen no more. RAH! RAH! RAH! HAIL ALMA MATER! The staff of the 1971 yearbook dedicates this yearbook to all the alumni of Berlin High School. Who could have imagined that from the early beginning of the first alumni association in 1871 by Principal Fletcher, there would remain in continuous operation the Berlin Alumni Associa- tion? Today the Berlin graduates come back and renew old acquaintances at the alumni banquet. Many Berlin grads have gone on to distinguish themselves in the fields of business, education and the arts. It is the sincere hope of the staff, the Berlin Alumni Association will continue to make the impact on future graduates as it has in the last 100 years. --Franketa Dresser '86 Principal Fletcher
