In Recognition MR. RAYMOND DROVER The Mascoutin editors of 1970 wish to recognize Mr. Raymond Drover for his outstanding ser- vice to the Berlin School System. Mr. Drover was born in a rural Waushara County farmhouse in 1907. He received his elementary education at a nearby country schoolhouse. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1924 and attended the Green Lake County Normal Teachers College for one year. His first teaching position was at a rural Dodge County school where he taught grades 1 through 8. Later he moved to Red- granite where he taught at a state grade school. He received his bachelors degree from Oshkosh State Teachers College and his masters degree in administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Later he taught at Campbell sport High School for three years. He taught mathematics and science and coached basketball and baseball there. During the depression in 1933, he took the position of principal of Washington School here, in Berlin, and held that position until he became principal of ClayLamberton School seven years ago. Mr. Drover has been in the teaching profession for 43 years and during that time he has taught all grades, 1 through 12. Mr. Drover will be missed by his former students, but leaving the teaching profession will give him some time for gardening, cabinet making, hunting and many of his other hobbies.

Editors My fair Ladies To the Class of 70........ We've all heard the expression, Our high school years are the best years of our lives.” Right now we say, “If these have been our best years then they can have 'eml” We feel this way be- cause the bad times are foremost in our minds. But, thinking about it, there have been good times, and these are the ones which will be remembered. We entered high school as green freshmen and were enveloped by the new surroundings and the superiority of the upperclassmen. As sophomores, life seemed a little more relaxed. We were carefree and enthusiastic about everything. Our junior year brought the most outstanding memory of high school years--the Junior Prom. A lot of hard work and cooperation from all the kids proved worthwhile, because it was beautiful! And now, since the beginning of our senior year, we have anticipated graduation. Our four years of high school are coming to an end. During these past years, each of us has had true friendships. But we've also had our disagree- ments, usually stemming from trivial matters or petty jealousies. Perhaps, this fighting is nor- mal, after being together for such a long time--but it is also very sad. Let us hope that some day we may all Come Together in peace and friendship. We, the editors of this book, wish all of you the best of luck in the future, in hopes that all of your dreams may someday be fulfilled. Naomi Sievers and Mary Pat McMonigal Co-editors
