VALEDICTORIAN When receiving an honor such as this, it is difficult to express in words my thanks and gratitude. Many long years ago when I was a poor green freshman, I thought the most wonderful thing in high school would be to be named valedictorian. I wished it would happen to me, but how often do dreams come true? Because this one has become reality, I owe many, many thanks to my teachers, counselors, and everyone who has helped me. To these, I say very gratefully, “thank you”. — Mary Gretchen Smazinski SALUTATORIAN Success as a student is a goal that could never be attained without the help and guidance of teachers, counselors and parents. Being saluta- torian is the highest honor I have ever achieved and I would like to extend my appreciation to all who guided me through these past four years.
