1986 (Berlin (Bids’ §occer ©earn The 1986 Redcoat Girl’s Soccer team had an overall record of 8 wins and 8 losses, and placed 14th in the conference. The lady Redcoats made it to states, and pulled through the season with the support of Coach Sheila King and assistant Coach Janet DeMay. Seniors Patty Bittner, Michelle Boissoneau, Amy Jacobson, Stacy Squires and Captains Dawn Battaglia and Marcelle Poulin, who will be missed greatly, led the team on the Lady Redcoats’ fight for victory during the season. 1986 Berlin $oys’ Soccer Seam The 1986 Redcoat Boys’ Soccer team en- W , victorious ference posting. Coach Robert Morell, assisted by Rick Han-bury and Gene Morris, directed the young team, which was led by captains John Morell and Paul Violette. Captains Morell and Violette, and Todd Helmecki and Craig Reese, were the team’s seniors. Violette led the attack, while Morell and Helmecki gave strength to the defense. Reese’s promising season was shortened by a broken leg in late September. The Redcoat Boys’ Soccer team earned a berth in the State Championship for the first time in the team’s brief history. 1988 Berlin dross Country dram Under coach Jim Keefe, the 1986 Boys’ Cross Country team had an overall 6-8 season. Captain Jeff Spiegel and “The Leg” gave the team enough motivation to qualify for the state meet held in Wickam Park. Even through rigorous training the team members maintained a sense of willingness to achieve under harsh environment. Jeff Spiegel, Cris Ludco, Steve Ryba, Dzung Nguyen, Edward Sampt, William Stefanowicz, Dean Wotkiewich, and William Frank were the participants on this year’s Cross Country team.
