CoL 2U 5, our earn an Cjuard cl CoL our Cjuard The 1985-86 Drill Team, led by co-captains Annamaria ftdaitd and Audra Brandish, and the Colour Guard, led by Co-captains Kelly McCormack and Caroline Chyra, started off the year by combining efforts and performing at the fall pep rally to the song “Don’t Lose My Number. During football season the two squads performed during half-time to Aztec Fire , Puttin’ on the Ritz . Boogie Down’’, and “Always on my Mind ” The Colour guard. Drill Team, and Marching Band also performed at two competitions this year in East Lyme and Norwalk Basketball season also meant entertainment supplied by the two squads during all home games The girls performed to music supplied by the Pep Band. The Colour Guard's co captains led the squad with the help of Evalisa Pulcini, former Color Guard captain; advisor, Mrs Frost, and senior members: Karin Berger. Sarah Bugay, Elke Ruepp. Marlene Burkarth. and Amy Erickson. The Drill Team consisted of sixteen members and two alter nates. Graduating seniors included: Annamarie Fiducia, Cindy Suroweic, Chrissi Pohlmann, and Jill Maguder. Perfect moves made during the football routine. SENIORS — Capt. eerleaderi This year the Berlin High School Cheerleading squad was made up of many dedicated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The varsity captains are Sherry Ciaffaglione and Lynn Spen-dolini. Their squad consisted of eleven other members; seniors Nicole Bozzuto and Kristin Pfahler, juniors Chrissy Dabrowski, Karen Marholin, Karen Tolomea, Marci Naldi, Missy Pethigal, and Kellie Tolomea, sophomores Karyn McLaughlin, Laura Weston, and Cheri Wilson made the squad complete. The junior varsity team was headed by senior Loreen Combrowski and junior Lisa Gollnick. Their team members were Laura Jacubiak, Pam Zadrowski, Cheryl Rease, Ceil Simeone, Jenn Miller, Krstyn Bratina, and Sandy Seitak. Both squads were busy this year. They began by putting together spirit week, sponsoring the fall sports’ pep rally. Some of the pep rally events included; tricycle races, pie eating contest, toilet paper wrap, tug-of-war, and the bubble gum blowing contest. The night of the pep rally there was the traditional spirit dance. Not only did the cheerleaders cheer at the football games, but at wrestling matches and girls’ basketball games. The ’85-86 squad’s contribution was greatly appreciated by everyone involved.
