ChGLISH MID DING The English Deportment hopes to continue strengthening its instruaion in writing. Plans to introduce the writing workshop instruction into grade 9 will be formulated this year. The English Deportment consists of o dedicated group of teachers who work very well together in on attempt to elevate the level of instruction in Berlin High School. Mrs. Ambot, Reoding Deportment Chairperson, reports that, in 1960-1984, her deportment continued to provide reoding instruction to oil students who could benefit by it. This year, Mr. Sconnell joined the Reoding staff, ond Mrs. Colise continued her fine work os on instructional aide. The deportment was also commended for o varied ond comprehensive listing of course offerings ond the introduction of new mathematics courses os the need arose The acquisition of several Apple computers hos allowed the deportment to involve over 200 students in computer courses this year. The deportment anticipates continued interest in computers ond will odd o new course in PASCAL According to Mr. Sherrick. the Deportment Heod, the Moth Deportment is continually reviewing new textbooks for each of its courses ond is in the midst of o program to upgrade several texts.
