Physical Education The Physical Education Department has added a new aspect to their program The team has begun to administer the AAMPERD physical fitness tests. Due to these tests, the department strives to put more activities into the classes, along with encouraging more participation A new course was added this year which requires sophomore participation The course is to aid in the learning of First Aid, according to Department Head Al Pelligrinelli. Mr. |ohn Dennehy, Athletic Director Special Education The Reading Department has continued to fulfill the requirements of the State of Connecticut by adapting certain programs and meeting the increasing reading needs of many students. These courses prepare the student for future employment in the business world as accountants, secretaries, and retailers This year, the department is busy planning a new word processing course which would utilize the new Apple II computers recently purchased by the school The department is also beginning to replace all the old typewriters with new electric typewriters according to Mr Phaup, head of the department Media Mr Jeff Wayne Mrs Mia McMahon.
