Mrs. Lydia Williams, Guidance Secretary Guidance The Guidance Department continues to work hard assisting students with courses and future career decisions. To aid the counselors in college, career, and vocational planning with the students, a new computer has been added to the department. The department's goal for the year is to integrate the computer into their counseling services. This year counselors, Mr Sangeloty and Miss Mitchell are teaching freshman health classes. English The English Department's main objective this year is to strengthen the writing skills of students A writing folder concept will be initiated to supplement this goal, according to Department Head, Mr Spieler. Students are encouraged to contribute to class discussions on a regular basis. Few changes have been made this year. Due to cuts in the school budget, the teaching staff has been reduced from ten to nine teachers. Shakespeare, a half year literature elective, has been introduced to the department curriculum. Many field trips have also been planned to reinforce and expand on ideas discussed in class. I'll give you that one, The Fly is better than The Scorpion.
