Mathematics The Math Department continues to be one of Berlin High School’s strong points. This year. Mr. Rex Smith joined the staff and Mrs. Gail Bates returned after a nine month absence. All were sorry to see Mr. Donald Bates retire. The school’s Calculus course has become a U. Conn, cooperative college credit program, and the department’s goal for the year is to update the curriculum. Mr. Kenneth Sherrick Algebra Dept. Foreign Language There were many changes in the Foreign Language Department this year Mr. Larriviere left the staff, and the Latin program was discontinued. German was offered for the second year and enjoyed great success. The department also organized a trip to Spain during April vacation. Mrs. Sandra D'Angona, the department head, describes the department’s goal for the year.
