Science New equipment and teachers have changed the face of the Science Department. All lab courses now have specifically scheduled lab periods instead of using class time. PSSC Physics students marveled at the quality of their sophisticated lab equip- ment. Science teachers are con- stantly improving the department with the addition of new courses and textbooks. Horticulture classes maintained a flourishing garden in Junior Court while car- ing for their plants in the green- house. Foreign Languages The Foreign Language Depart- ment has undergone important changes in both faculty and cur- riculum Miss Elizabeth McBrien, Latin and French teacher, retired in spring of 1977 after many years of service to Berlin High School. In addition to offering basic language courses, the Depart- ment now offers half year courses to stimulate an interest in foreign languages in students who do not need college prepar- atory language but desire a working knowledge of another language for travel or career use The Foreign Language Depart- ment has also held fund raisers tor special events and field trips to promote foreign cultural awareness and heritage.
