We, The Lamp Staff, dedicate this yearbook to an ideal rather than a person because at this moment in our lives, one of our most precious possessions is our dreams and aspirations. We therefore are dedicating this yearbook to the intangible right of personal liberty. We believe freedom is the paramount essential to human dignity and human happiness. The United States of America’s existence is based on this doctrine. Too often we overlook our innumerable liberties and we complain that our human rights are being abused. In these confused times of protest and remonstrance we should remember that the ability to protest is one of our many rights as citizens of the United States. “In a free country there is much clamor, with little suffering; in a despotic state there is little complaint, with much grievance.” Carnot ACADEMICS Mr. Donald L. For having put off till later the decision, the effort, the embrace. The hour that’s gone is gone forever. You who will come after me, know better: Seize the day! The Fruits Of The Earth Andre Gide
