1edicatio-n We, the Echo staff of 1965, proudly dedicate this yearbook to the late William E. Shively, a janitor here at Berlin Local School since 1959. Throughout these past years, mutual and lasting friendship and respect grew between Mr. Shively and the students. He was a man who found it in his heart to laugh at the things we laughed at, and cry for the things for which we cried; he could tell us when we were off the right track; he could discuss with us anything from a tough exam to the world situation; and what made it all so worth- while—he understood, and tried to help us. We will always remember him as a man who truly left life a little better than it was when he came—a task often too great for many a man in a higher place, 2
