Absent when picture was taken, J.Kosuider, J.Perkins, J.Green In October 1953 Berlin Height's grinders defeated Spencer. This started a string of wins which is now 15 straight. For this outstancing record and for the recognition which they brought the school, we, the Echo staff of 195° dedicate this yearbook to our foctoall team, _ ., Flur Seniors, Leon and Ted Goodman, ob Dute. and Lick roe Her, led the team through an undefeated season in 1934« Leon led the team in scoring with ’A points and yardage with 696. His nine conversions in 10 tries against Green Springs was one of the high points of the season. This team was rated eighth in the nation by •Six 2!an Football .agazine . The firers recorded five six-man wins in 1933 but the highlight of the season was the eleven-man game against tournee Valley, With only a week's practice on the new plays, the Tigers downed the i.ohawks 13-c. Seniors on the scuad were Rich Good, George Hoag, Charlie Hoffman, Neale Horweael. Dan Kernel1, Jerome Kosmider, Lean Kraus, and Tim Perkins. laul uslin was high man in scoring with 91 and gaining with £cl. . Probably the best sguad before the two present editions of the football team was the I940 group under Coach Robert Schultz. The band played at the Christmas operetta, the spring concert, and for commencement. They also played for the assembly which the speech class sponsored. In November the F.H.A. put on the joint Emblem and Initiation Service for Milan and 3erlin Chapters. At the January meeting Mrs. Marjorie Holland spoke about her trip to Mexico. Cn January 12 the girls had their annual Cherry Fie Contest in which Doreen Bruns, a freshman, took top honors. January 1U and March 10 oake sales were held at the Locker Flant to raise money for the Mother and Daughter 3anquet. Courtesy Week was held from February 27 to March 2. The purpose of the week was to emphasize the Importance of courtesy. The annual Mother Daughter Bancuet was held April 5. Approximately 50 mothers .na daughters were present. The Chapter Farmer initiation was held October 13 with the following initiated; Charles Whaley, Richard Baker, and Ambrose 0'Brian. The local chapter received a silver medal for placing third in the county parlimentary procedure contest held November first. The local chapter raised acres of soybeans, two acres of corn, and one acre of wheat this year. Other activities of the year included a Harvest Dance, held October 21, two swimming parties, scrap drive, F. F. a. convention in Columbus, and Father and Son Banquet held April 19. The chanter has grown from 17 to 21 members in this time. The purpose of the FT. A. is to give students that are interested in teaching, the opportunity to assist teachers in their daily work, and in this way grow more interested in the career of teaching. All of the members have work assis- ting teachers with the smaller children or with physical education classes or working as student librarians. November 28, the group was host to four other at Berlin Heights School. After the business meeting the skit Le, a teacher was presented. They are the a-capella choir which has 33 members and mixed chorus which has 58 members. The First Annual Christmas Carol Services on December 18 was given by both of these choirs. This is the first year for A-capella Choir. They sang for the Spring Concert May 9 with the Band, America Cfcir Heritage • The titles of the other songs were «Climbin' Up The Mountains , Our Flag , Onward, Ye Peoples .
