CLASS OF 1978 PRESENTS OUR FOREST It is true that life is a vertible forest. A real eden of greenery as time advances. But wait,-don’t hasten to forget the simple stem. The great beauty, the tender bough, the admiring glances. Remember, please, those tiny shoots,-the bare beginning Yes,-when each of us had just begun to perceive life. Sheltered by parental oaks,-guided ever skyward, To display ourselves, fertile seeds,-sampling much strife. We do struggle daily in these forests seeking peace. Attaining pride, stature, strength,-some living room-and ease Great goals, burst egos, fighting for water and sunlight. How nice that the Lord shows us the forest,-poor selfish trees For each of us a tree,-simply that,-nothing more. Unable to withstand wind and rain and sun,-alone. Dependent on all others,-though leaf and bark be strange. A forest is comfort when each tree can call it home. But wisdom lies in identifying with each tree, not the forest. G A A 1977 ANSWERS PLEASE TEAM TRIBUTE TO THE B.C.S. ANSWERS PLEASE TEAM - BY ARDARATH GORSKY - On three different evenings, a group from B.C.S. Traveled to Schenectady to prove they were the best — The best at answering questions, the best at quick recall — Oh yes! They simply had to prove they were the best of all. There was Steven Slattery, who really showed his skill. And then there was another, the Holt whose name was Bill, Jones and Herman were two more who rounded out the team — And once that group got going, they really “got the steam”! First it was a rival, the school of Germantown Who, when they met our mighty four, to sad defeat went down. Then Averill Park, our neighbor — how disdainfully they came. Sure of victory, but went home, their heads bowed down in shame. One more school, Schoharie, had to make a try To win a game, their attitude was one of “do or die”! But they, too, found they’d met their match and to defeat went down Just as at the start of it had mighty Germantown. And so, 3 wins this team has made, the first in many a year. Retiring undefeated, and deserving many a cheer. Yes! Holt and Herman, Slattery and Jones proved they were the best By bringing back the trophy to good old B.C.S.
