“
- YES, I AM MY BROTHER’S KEEPER! Too many of us go through life With blindfolds on our eyes So busy with our own pursuits We fall to realize — That all around us there are needs Each one of us can fill By giving of ourselves with love Compassion and good will. Sometimes it only takes a smile A word or two of cheer A little time to listen With a sympathetic ear. A hand outstretched in friendship Is a gift beyond compare To someone who is troubled And burdened by despair. God never meant us to close Our hearts and mind up tight And only see the things that make Our wold secure and right. He'd rather have us reaching out To touch our fellow man And show that we are willing To help him if we can. So let's tear away the blindfolds And be close to one another Then we can truly say am. The keeper of my brother! A YEAR OF MEMORIES as seen by THE CLASS OF ’73 in the MOUNTAINEER . Berlin Central School Berlin, New York by Alice E. Chase We Say Thanks A Friend Is The First One Who Comes In A Hand Outstretched In Friendship MESSAGE TO THE SENIORS I will remember this year as a time when the Senior class and other students returned to school under an austerity budget. You realized the importance of instructional supplies, equipment, and interscholastic sports and met the challenge by spending many hours working toward having them reinstated. I hope you have found your labor beneficial and your senior year enjoyable. As the Class of 1973, you are taking another step forward in your life's path. '’Learning being a continuous process, you will not leave education behind but approach it from many different directions. You will meet many trying challenges in this path and on behalf of the faculty, non-instruc- tional staff, and administration, I would like to wish each of you a life of fulfillment and peace. The Varsity with a 10 and 8 record had a good season and made it to the (quarter-finals) in sec- tionals against Middleburgh. The team was led by the pitching and hitting of John MacVeigh who hit over 500 up until the last game. It was a frustrating season copped off by a 3-2 loss to Middle- burgh in quarterfinals due to a costly error. The annual Spaghetti Supper is prepared by the Student Council. It requires long hours of planning and preparing. However, one of the most important requirements is peo- ple who are willing to work. Mr. Garippa, the chief chef and Diane Sagendorf, the chairman of the supper are two of the finest examples of hard-working individuals. Their type of people are the ones who make the supper possible. The people who support the supper are of indescribable importance. With their consistent patronage, the effort is worthwhile.
