We take you to Katherine Kil- gallen Protus on the Moon where, one year ago today, an adventurous group of modern pioneers from B.C.S. landed and established a new colony called New Berlin. Come in, Kathy. This is Katherine Kilgallen Protus reporting from New Berlin, Moon, where the Berlin Mountaineers, Class of '64, are engaged in a gala celebration. All who made this historic trip are well established in the colony. Here with me is Stephen Kling, N.B.C. photographer who made this eventful trip in order to capture these past months on film. Oh, now coming into camera range is David Mason interspacially known fashion designer. David designed all space suits used on the trip. Everyone is now wearing a Mason original. With Dave is his foremost model, lovely Suzanne Moore. It is rumored that Suzanne is the highest paid model on the Moon. This really isn't surpris- ing since Suzanne is the only model on the Moon. Now we see a most peculiar sight indeed! A couple out horseback riding. And who is it? You guessed it - Pam Byars and Roberta Hoffman who, immediately after landing, ordered some horses from Montgomery Ward and established the New Moon Riding Stable. Now I see Ken Gifford and Roger Vincent coming into view. They are chatting about their new careers. Kenny, a forester, was hired by the government to find new species of trees on the Moon. Ken found a rare type indeed - a money tree! I He says that is is a very lucrative business sending them back to earth. Roger was sent by Hugh Heffner to open and manage the Moon's first Playboy Club and is very enthused about his job. Behind them comes that famous trio; Steve Hodges, Clarence Williams, and Henry Madden. Word has it that their latest project is trying to find a method of stringing power and light poles from the Earth to the Moon. We all wish them the best of luck. I now hear strains of music, and I believe .... yes, it is! It’s Althea Greene and her all girl dance band, the Moonshiners. The Moonshiners play nightly at Colleen Brahan's dance hall, Peterscrater. With the band is Mary Alice Stowell, featured vocalist. Her theme song is Fly Me To The Moon. Don't forget to buy her new album, Crater of Love. Carl Var also entered the music world. He is now touring the Moon as a concert pianist. Behind the musicians, we see a cavalcade of cars. It’s the U.S. Ambassador to the Moon, Margaret Hayner. Beside her in the car is her long time friend, Christine Vincent, who is a special envoy from West Point. In the next car are Carole Miller and Joanne Strait, joint heads of the Interspacial Exchange Commission. Carol and Joanne are in charge of all communication between the Earth and the Moon, making this conversation possible. Also in the car is Sharon Halleck who is head of the Lunar Peace Corps. Sharon was a logical choice for the job as she majored in Espermoonalingua, the official language of the Moon, in college. PROPRECY And walking behind is Don Demick, the President’s emissary on physical fitness, stressing his moon version of the fifty-mile hike. ’’My goodness, what is that man doing over there? Why it's George Hager, busy painting huge QUIET signs to distribute throughout the Moon. That's novel Georgel And speaking of novelties. Bill Church is the biggest one here! They've never heard of C.P. A. 's on the Moon. Oh, here comes Ellen Hewson and Daraine Greene surrounded by a mob of adoring fans. Ellen and Daraine are in show business up here. Their canned laughter records are selling like hot cakes. And along with the crowd are Mary Lou Mahoney, head of the Moon Public Health Service, and her assistant Carol Ward. They follow crowds just in case someone is over- come with excitement. Everyone looks stunning today. All the girls had their hair done at Lillian Bink and Elaine Griswold's beauty shop called The Moon Glow.” The men got spruced up at Leslie Douglas’ barber shop. And now here are what we might call the forgotten heroes of this venture. John Maxon and Ernie Vincent built the Mountaineers' space ship. They came along to keep it in top condition. Oh, yes, here is one of the more distinguished members of the colony. Pat Conk- lin was sent by the Dept, of Health, Education, and Welfare to become the first princi- pal of the first American high school on the Moon. On either side of Pat are two lovely ladies, Nancy Thompson and Donna Maxon. Nancy was personally hired by Betty Crocker to set up a test kitchen on the Moon. Donna was hired by the U.S. Government to collect facts about this trip for future use in history books. Well, all of the Mountaineers appear to be gathered here at the town square in New Berlin. This is the group that did it. The first men and women to land on the Moon. This is Katherine Kilgallen Protus switching you back to Earth. by: Sharon Halleck and David Mason SEN f OR, FtAY CheAp ii Doge by from the book by Frank B. Gilbreth, Jr., and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey. Dra- matized by Christopher Sergei. Dad is a terrific efficiency expert, and it's his firm conviction that what works in the factory will work in the home! Despite his high school age daughters' interest in boys and dates, Dad pushes ahead with better organization for his large and delightful family. While this provides uproarious humor and fast-paced action, there's an important meaning and imperative reason for it. Dad has a heart condition which he's keeping secret from the family. The girls, not knowing this, don't understand why Dad regards their interest in dates as a waste of time. Then in a deft and moving scene. Dad becomes aware of how much Anne, his eldest daughter, has grown up and that of course she should have dates and go to dances. At the same time Anne realizes the truth about Dad.
