WBNIVlNflOW 3H1 The Road Not Taken Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverge in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Willie was a perfectly normal seventeen year old. that is. until Lola Pratt came to visit in town. With her baby talk and floppy dog, she captivated every boy in town . . . including Willie! Unfortunately for him, Willie's parents didn’t quite share his opinion of Miss Pratt, and neither did any of the other parents in the town. His little sister, Jane, constantly embarrassed him in front of everyone. In fact, every- thing seemed to be working against poor Willie. He was convinced of it when Lola forgot all his declarations of love, and gave her ring to a bold, brash newcomer with absolutely no manners! So now Willie is wise in the ways of love. He has loved . . . and lost, that summer when he was seventeen. The Class of 1963 is now assembling in the lobby of the largest hotel in Paris to celebrate its 10th annual class reunion. Our class went out into the world with high ideals, and every member has made his or her mark on the Ladder of Success. The first two members of our class to enter are John Slattery and John Wells. After graduation, Slattery and Wells bought a small island in the Pacific. They declared war on the United States in 1963 and in 1966 each collected a billion dollars in war damages. The boys are presently building twin mansions in Al- bany where they hobnob with the Rockefeller family. The next to enter are John Garvin and Margaret Plank. John was the stu- dent who inspired the seniors of '63 in their high ideals. John, now a doctor, recently discovered a permanent cure for schoolitis which is caused by a lack of school spirit. Margaret, whose artistic talents are widely known, married after graduation and is currently busy with a recent addition to her picture. Here comes Molly Allen whose first accomplishment after graduation was the settlement of the N. Y. City newspaper strike. Her experience with the Taconican and our yearbook led her to a job as editor of the New York Times. Now entering are Harvey Teal and Larry Feathers. Harvey's tinkering with radios in high school led him to a job as the chief communication officer at Cape Canaveral. Larry joined the Air Force after graduation and put his car into orbit two weeks later. Unfortunately, Larry was in the car at the time, but due to Harvey's directions from Canaveral was able to return safely to Earth. Tony Mastropole is now entering, along with Judy MacDonald and Jo-Ann Michaels. Tony recently captured the drumming championship of the world by defeating Gene Krupa at Steel Pier. Judy attended college for two years and then became an airline stewardess for TWA. She recently gave up her career to marry a pilot who claims she put him on Cloud 9 while over Paris. Jo-Ann attended a beauty school and is now head hair stylist for 20th Century Studios. Next to enter is Pam Cure, with Kent Putnam. Because Kent has a deep desire to orbit the earth 47 times in a wastepaper basket, he has hired Pam to assist him in getting into proper physical condition. Now coming in is Jerry Strait. As Jerry's pet peeve is people who aren't like him, he has just opened a chain of charm studios in Southern Africa. Good luck, Jerry! Be sure to stay away from suspicious-looking natives who carry iron kettles. Craig Gutermuth and Virginia Hammond have just arrived. Craig moved to Hoosick Falls after graduation to save wear on his car and is presently operat- ing a lonely hearts club for the girls he left behind. Virginia opened a riding stable and is currently teaching her five children the fundamentals of riding. Prophecy Dick Frank and Paula Sedgwick are now coming in. Paula married the owner of the House of Dior” in Paris and is now designing clothes for expectant mothers. Dick joined the service and rose to the rank of Admiral, but he was forced to resign because he misplaced too many ships. Here come Keith Woodcock and Sandra Rathbun. Keith went into business near Paul Smith College after he graduated from high school. Will all those interested in deer meat, legal or otherwise, please contact Keith after the ceremonies. Sandy attended college for two years and then entered the Peace Corps. She recently returned from her third trip to Moscow. Next to enter is Ernie Turcotte, along with Gary Gerstel, and Ronnie Jewett. Ernie, ex-senior class president, followed up his high school political career by being elected Governor of N. Y. Garv is now operating a taxi service in Ste- phentown to support his wife and eleven children. Ronnie recently bought a 3,000 acre tree farm surrounding Dyken Pond. Ronnie says that he plans to use the lumber to build a home for his wife and six children. Here come three very familiar faces belonging to Dorothy Stevens, Mau- reen Maxon, and Nora Gardner. The girls attended nursing school together and upon graduation Dorothy married the hospital administrator, leaving Maureen and Nora to chase interns by themselves. Next to enter are Katie Maxwell, Kay Manchester, and Eddie Bly. Katie returned to Glens Falls and opened a trailer park. Kay attended college for four years and is now teaching Chinese at our alma mater. As for Eddie, he used his artistic talents to design a new cover girl for a pin-up calendar. Here come the three girls who wore diamonds in our senior year. Virginia Goodermote, now Mrs. Ronald Staples, Kathy Jones, now Mrs. John Cinney, and Shirley Goodermote, now Mrs. Robert Oswald. The girls are now applying the fundamentals of housekeeping that they learned while in high school. Last to enter are Nancy Cassel, Sandra Bentley, Carol Corbin, and Jack DeCoigne. Nancy entered the service and is now working in the Pentagon. Sandra runs a drivers' training school, and occasionally takes tourists on guided tours of Berlin, Stephentown, and Grafton. Carol became private secretary to Jack who heads a Senate Investigating Committee. Now that our class is complete, you can see that everyone has gone far in the world. Let's get on with the business at hand: our class reunion. SANDRA RATHBUN Dick Frank leaves his kind and gentle personality to Leonard Johnson. Kent Putnam leaves - peacefully. Sandra Rathbun leaves Mrs. Maxson a box of typewriter erasers to replace the ones lost during the last three years. Nancy Cassel leaves her quiet manner to Ellen Hewson. Jerry Strait leaves his running speed to Larry Church. John Slattery leaves his driving ambition to George Gundrum. Paula Sedgwick leaves Mr. Chambrone a fly-swatter. Keith Woodcock leaves his accident insurance to Carl Var. Pam Cure leaves her heart with Clarence Micheals. Nora Gardner leaves a box of colored pencils to Mr. Chambrone so he can make his marks in technicolor. Kay Manchester leaves her gigantic size to Moose MacDonald. Jo-Ann Michaels leaves her marks in history to Kathy Protus. Molly Allen leaves a surgical mask to Mr. Urbano to reduce the hazards of audio-lingual teaching. John Garvin leaves his magic sneakers to Squeek Coulter. Carol Corbin leaves Mr. Wander her excess hair (because he needs it). Margaret Plank leaves happily with Larry. Katie Maxwell leaves happily with many wonderful memories. Larry Feathers leaves his good behavior to Clarence Micheals. Will Virginia Hammond leaves her place as first trumpet to Mary Ann Goodermote. John Wells leaves quickly - with half the faculty right behind him. Judy MacDonald leaves to Mr. Chambrone a supply of test tubes for another clumsy lab student. Tony Mastropole leaves his sweat towel and position on the basket- ball team to Dennis Garvin. Ernie Turcotte leaves Mrs. Fogg a pack of gum. Jack DeCoigne leaves his tremendous height for rebounding to Chris Stevens. Eddie Bly leaves gladly. Kathy Jones leaves her pull'’ with the cops to James Riccardi. Gary Gerstel leaves without any help! Dorothy Stevens and Maureen Maxon leave their crush on Mr. Chambrone to Jeannie Demick. Harvey Teal leaves the school minus one juvenile delinquent. Junior-Senior Prom Wonderland by Night was presented on June 9, 1962.
